2007 Mazdaspeed3 / Mazda3 MPS & facelift versions
AFTER a long period of wait and speculations, Mazda is finally introducing its sport version of the 3. The Japanese answer to the Golf GTI is equipped with the 2.3L MZR DISI TURBO engine of the Mazda6 MPS / Mazdaspeed6. According to the company, the Mazdaspeed3 / Mazda3 MPS will not be offered with all wheel drive, which means that the engine will probably be tuned to produce less horsepower than the Mazda6 MPS / Mazdaspeed6.

I love the car! Curious to see the coupe model which is what I will buy when my '04 is done and paid for. I think in the near future they will offer an AWD version with even more HP. What I think Mazda is trying to do is keep this thing lightweight and cheap(er) than the competition. But could you imagine an AWD version with 300+ponies and dual exhaust? NASTY!
