Up...comes the 207 RC

The Geneva presentations are heating up as one by one, the car manufactures are laying there cards on the table. This time Peugeot is going to give us a sneak peak of its upcoming, top of the range, 207 RC, in the form of a Rally Concept called 207 RCup.

Cleary inspired by the 3 wheel prototype 20Cup which was previewd in the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show , the French concept will give birth to two models, the 207 GTi and the RC.

Both models will wear a new turbocharged 1,6 litre petrol engine, the first example from the cooperation between PSA Peugeot Citroën and the BMW Group.

This turbocharged engine, which features a range of highly innovative technical advances, will develop a power output of 143 hp in the GTi and 170 hp in the RC. There will be two gearboxes offered, a sequential 6-speed semiauto manual (controlled by means of paddles under the steering wheel) and a 6 speed manual.

The 207 GTi model is expected to be shown in the Paris Show in September, while the 207 RC in next years Geneva Motor Show.
