Here’s an interesting proposition for the next generation Ford Focus; a coupe look for the 3door version. But wait, hasn’t Ford already done this? Well, maybe in the

The US model is quite long in the tooth, preceding the Mazda3 based one available elsewhere. Disregard the looks and dig underneath, where the real stuff is. The Americans are being cheated for no reason.
i think that ford should defendetly make the 2009 focus coupe and especially the convertable . i saw a proto-type of it or a picture of the actual car i think it said in europe. i would buy a focus convertable. it is beautiful and i think it would get ford back into the game. leave it to buick to make cars for older people. i am 42 and ford has always been one of my favority vehicles. young and sporty !!!
Having been in Germany for the past 4 years (and counting for another 4) I've had the pleasure of driving REAL European Tuned cars. The biggest difference between American cars and the Euro's? Design - Design - Design! The first Gen Focus was basically the same for both Continents while the 2nd American Generation was formed into an enco-family type style, the 2nd Gen European Focus (yet somewhat resembling) was refined and beautiful. As far as the 3rd Gen Focus for both Cont... Again, the Euro version is even more refined and sexy looking, inside and out. I'm sure that most of anyone would agree with that. They style that Ford has taken in Europe (think 2010-2012 Fiesta) has far surpassed that of the American design. Being an avid Ford guy, I have an 08 Escape (has anyone ever thought about "slapping" on the Escape front end onto the Ranger or an update - wouldn't do anything but good for the aging Danger Ranger?!) and am, even though "bashing" it, in the process of buying an 09 Focus Coupe.
The one HUGE leap forward that Ford has taken is the integration of the SYNC system into (basically) all the cars in the line up. My only real gripe with the new Focus - the front end. Who thought of those headlights? Round those things off - give them some "pointiness" like the 1st Gen, don't cut off the tip of a triangle (above the wheel well), and what's that chunck taken out of the bottom front?!
Ford - Keep trying, bring in some influance from your design team in Europe (bring the Focus along for the ride with the 2010 Focus and upcoming Tauras). Fords sell like hot cakes over there!
