Finally, our road rage prayers have been answered! We received an email a couple of days ago from a group of totally annoyed people, who convened to begin the "Left Land Drivers of America", a grassroots effort to get those slow-pokes that dilly-dally in the left lane out of the way! Not only is this act annoying, but often times, it's illegal in some states and countries. The group has copyrighted windshield decals which read "MOVE OVER" followed by an arrow pointing the driver ahead to the opposite lane. The decal is especially positioned in a manner which allows that slow left lane driver to view it correctly in their rearview mirror.
Moving over is indeed a matter of courtesy. But let's face it, drivers aren't courteous. So if you see this decal on a car that's riding up your behind, do what it says, Chances are you're holding things up.

Brilliant idea, when will someone make one with the arrow pointing the other way for British drivers?
Thats the good thing about the UK then, gun control. Because where I drive people are real funny when it comes to being told what to do from the behind the wheel. A guy was shotgunned to death the other morning driving to work leaving a widow and 2 young boys. Road rage is suspected. Nobody's been apprehended.
The problem is, most people that get this sticker aren't simply using the left lane to pass slower traffic; they're using the left lane as a 'super-high speed' lane. I've been doing the speed limit (and sometimes a bit over, 5-10mph+) and still had tailgaters when I'm in the left lane, even while I'm trying to pass slower traffic, and had them honk or flash their lights at me.
If you are passing traffic and/or doing 5 mph+ over the speed limit, then anyone tailgating you in the left lane is simply being a prick, not trying to 'improve safe driving conditions'. Additionally, the laws that prevent 'traffic blocking' in the left lane do not apply if the 'blocking car' is driving at or above the speed limit. Tailgating at high speeds is a much more hazardous condition that driving at or slightly above the speed limit in the 'fast/passing lane'
If someone is behind you wanting to go faster than you, and you're in front of them in the left lane, you're the prick, not them--no matter what speed you're going at. It's people like you who cause road rage and endanger the road for all of us, since you force people to find gaps between traffic in the right lanes, in between people who were actually courteous enough to move over.
