A member of the German forum Motor-Talk that goes by the nickname “Jason_V” posted these pictures of what seems to be a lightly camouflaged prototype of the upcoming Audi RS6 Avant. Compared to the S6 Avant, the car viewed here features a slightly modified single-frame grille along with redesigned front and rear bumpers and single exhaust pipes.

In addition to the images, we recently received information on the RS6 by a source that wishes to remain anonymous. Technically we’re still on vacation so it’s a little difficult to verify this info for the time being, but our tipster supports that the RS6 will definitely make its debut at the Frankfurt show. Our "source" says that the RS6 will be equipped with a bi-turbo version of the Lamborghini Gallardo derived, 5.2-liter V10 found in the S6. The V10’s capacity will be slightly reduced to 5.0-liters but thanks to the addition of twin-turbos, output will increase from 435 Hp to 580 Hp. The Frankfurt Show is just around the corner so we’ll find out soon enough if this is true. -Follow the jump to see the scoop images
