Well before Toyota even announced something on the all-new 2009 (or 2008) Land Cruiser, Corporacion Flores, which seems to be the Japanese automaker’s official Hondura importer, released a flash gallery on their site fully revealing the upcoming 4x4! Toyota’s Japanese folks aren’t going to be happy at all but we’re certainly appreciative of the Central American dealer’s decision to play fare... and share. Although Corporacion Flores “forgot” to add the technical specs, the’08/’09 Land Cruiser is basically a slightly redesigned 2008 Lexus LX 570, meaning it will be equipped with the same 381 Hp 5.7L V8 engine. And oh yeah, we think its a bland, ugly bar of soap too. But we wouldn't expect it to look otherwise... -More interior & exterior images after the jump

I have driven Landcruisers for over 30 years and this one is for sure a Blandcruiser.
I mean, from 100 feet away put
next to a dozen other models of SUV's, you could not tell which one was the Landcruiser.
The instrument cluster is an absolute mistake;
they put these deep dish tunnels
around the tach and speedo dials
which force the driver to lean left or right depending on which dial they want to look at, and that is the point;
The driver should have to focus their attention on an instrument to read it; it is dangerous and takes their concentration off the road.
This is basic ergonomics 101 which
has been proven for over 50 years.
They stopped using the tunnels over the instruments on the early
Lexus IS models for exactly that reason.
Will someone just get a brain and stop listening to the California airheads who design these Blandcruisers??
