Stop the press! The first official teaser picture of the highly anticipated 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi just fell into our hands this morning catching us totally by surprise. We’re still waiting for the official release to get all the juicy details but for now we can tell you that the 2008 Impreza STi which will debut next month at the Tokyo Show, will be equipped with a 300 Hp turbocharged boxer engine. Despite the fact that this is just a teaser image shot from above, the bulgy fenders and the hood scoop leave no doubt that the STi will be quite more aggressive than its highly critiqued WRX spouse. More to come later on the day.

How could Subaru make the Impreza so unlike the rally car. I mean its a saloon-type car NOT an estate hatchback-thingy

the 08 production STI looks almost exactly like the production model thats coming out. The Impreza has looked basically the same for years, The new model is a change to say the least, but it still is a mean car. Won't stop me from buying one.

The 08 rally car looks exactly like the production car thats coming out in 08. The Impreza has looked the same for years and its time for a change. The 08 model still has a mean 300 under its hood, and a wider body to make up for the hight increase do to bing a hatchback. I'm tempted to buy one even though it isn't the Impreza everyone knows and loves.
