R.I.P.: Brand New Porsche 911 Destroyed In Scrapyard

|

We have no idea what the hell the commenter is talking about but that’s beside the point; we felt completely heartbroken after viewing this video that shows with spine-tingling details, a brand new Porsche 911 being destroyed and turned into a soulless pile of scrap metal. If any of our readers are fluent in German, we’d really like to know why...

It's a ridiculous artist thing.

The guy is tryng to tell us that car is just metal and glass and is doing the same comparison with oil and fuel.

It's an artist delirium.

the guy is tryng to tell us that a car is just an amount of glass and metal...

It's typical in germany they are crazy with modern art and with thinking about stupid things.

There are thousands of Ph.D. engineers work hours in this car. If this is not a crash test of some sort, destroying such a car, for any reason, is an absolute insult!

si pt tine, nu mai manca rahat fara rost... O sa intelegi tu data viitoare cand o faci ;)

:O :(( , for any reason this can't happen , those men are some kind of freak demented retarded heartless pshicopats ...

Seems like it's a "piece of art". They expose the pile of wreck in a museum at the end of the video.

I had trouble watching this, knowing the outcome.
It's a dream car for many, me included.

It was a piece of art in the first place >:(!!!

Puuh, I am lucky, thats not a German. He is from Austria. A Neighbor-country. And he says, that he is producing a sculpture. And the museum in the last minutes shown in the video, is also in Austria.

He also mentions that the car is an "Erlkoenig"... That´s the german word for test-mule. I think that´s why the car has black wheels.
So if that´s true, it wasn´t realy a new car.

And by the way(i am from germany):
The "artist" seemed to be from switzerland...;-)

It's a relief that this didn't happen (with a real porsche anyway).

"I had trouble watching this, knowing the outcome.

this is true for a lot of people. a lot of people that drive hondas and toyotas and hyundais and other cars of this kind...what they really want is a porsche. Check out the sales of those companies to understand how many people would feel this way.

art is suppose to make you feel good... this doesn't make a lot of people feel good, it's ugly and insulting.

"Hello, Porsche? Hi, I would like one 911. It's for.... Art... Yes, ART! I promise to squish it too."

Anonymous said... »September 03, 2007

Hey guys! Keep it easy...don't listen too much to what that guy is telling...about art...that's not interesting.

But this car was definitly a testmule (a testcar) and as you know...the testing cars (testmules) equal if it is a BMW, PORSCHE or MERCEDES, they are all destroyed after the tests are over. Destroyed or broken into pieces.
So this car had to die anyway!!

They could have just bought a smaller sports car. Silly Europeans.

Anonymous said... »September 08, 2007

Yes, it's 'art'. The KLF - performance artists / alternative musicians of the 80's - were even worse; they burned £3million (yes!!!) as an artistic statement on more than one occasion.

But what I want to know is, why can't test mules be recycled instead of crushed, for example as cars for Porsche production line workers to use, or as track day specials?

Anonymous said... »September 23, 2007

This car is a so called "Erlkönig" the German word for a prototype. Every prototypes fate. Anyway it hurts...

Anonymous said... »September 28, 2007

I'm german and ich can understand it...
The owner of the car is an artist and wanted to make a sculpture of it^^ But I think, that he is fucking crazy...

Ok, just so everyone knows, all test mules and prototypes are crushed by the manufacturers now. its all to do with taxes. Due to the item being R&D it can not then be sold on for profit. To be honest in most cases you would not want it, in many case a a test car can have covered well over 100,000 miles in very strenuous conditions.
