Yesterday, we showed you the limited run Ford Focus ST500 which went on sale in the UK. Today, Brit magazine Autoexpress has unleashed the first official images of the redesigned 2008 Focus ST which is expected to go on sale in Europe during the first quarter of 2008. As with the standard versions of the 2008 Focus which was unveiled at this year’s Frankfurt Show (click here), the new ST features cleaner looks thanks to the Mondeo-style front end while changes at the rear include the new diffuser-style bumper, along with the revised tailgate and tail-lamps. -Continued after the jump

Changes inside the 2008 Focus ST include a new set of instruments, revised controls for the stereo and ventilation and, and a new grained soft-touch synthetic material on the entire instrument panel, as well as the upper trims of the front doors. In terms of mechanical changes, the new ST retains the same 2.5-liter turbocharged engine as before. The 5-cylinder unit produces 220 Hp propelling the current ST from 0 to 100 km/h in 6,8 seconds (0 to 60mph in 6.5 seconds) while its top speed is 241 km/h or 150 mph.

hmmmm i dont about the new look of this ST model - i like the headlamps but it seem to have lost details from the bumpers and wheel arches that sets the current model apart from the rest of the focus line up.

Behave! I think Fords Kinetic design has made this car look awesome! I always thought the ST would look alot better with a rear diffuser and it's nice to know someone else thinks the same! I also heard rumours of a more powerful ST being released at some point during the course of the year boasting power gains from 225bhp to 265bhp with a little help from the Rouch tuning company trading under the name of Mountune. If this is true, then start waving at the Astra VXRs :)

You already can wave goodbye to the VXR's, on any road with a slight bend on it. In fact, even on a straight road, laught as they torque-steer off into the bushes ;-)
