Kia not only unleashed the first official image (without counting the blacked out teaser shot) of the production version of the Mesa Concept, but the Korean’s also revealed that their all-new mid-size SUV will bear the moniker of "Borrego". Set to make its official premiere in January at the Detroit Auto Show, the Borrego will go on sale in North America in late spring or early summer of 2008 as a 2009 model.

Built with body-on-frame construction the Borrego will be available with either a V6 engine or the company's first V8 offering, which will also boast Kia's largest towing capacity to date. According to a previous release from Kia, the Borrego will compete against the Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Toyota 4Runner and Nissan Pathfinder. Don't you think it's a copycat of chrysler pacifica?

That grille is straight off a Subaru Tribeca - the facelifted, less offensive model. Are Kia paying royalties for this??

isn't it kind of ridiculous to call it a copycat of some other companies since EVERY single car makers copy off one another at least to some extent? In that sense, there is no car that's got pristine and original look. NOTHING. I'm sure that this car's got similar looks to some other cars but I'm also sure that it's not exactly the same and it has got its own style.

I don't know much about Subaru Tribeca but Borrego didn't come out through just a few month's of work. The design is motivated by its concept HM (project name) which was revealed like in early 06. This is the result of their three years of effort, please don't think so stereotypically and show some respect.
