We’re more than sure that you’ve asked yourself a question like this at some point; how much does the “X” car cost in other countries? Well, we decided to try to answer that question for the “Z” car, aka the Nissan 350Z which is available in most countries. For time’s sake, we searched for the price of the entry-level (standard equipment differs in each country) Nissan 350Z in 23 markets all over the world converting prices into Euro and US Dollars (exchange rates: Nov. 11, 2007).

You can check our detailed list after the jump, but here are the top three worst and best places to live in if you’re interested in buying a basic Nissan 350Z:
Lowest Prices - USA €19,070 or $27,980, Japan €22,575 or $33,123 & Mexico €33,428 or $49,047. Highest Prices - Norway €112,660 or $165,258, Denmark €104,646 or $153,540 & Brazil €91,793 or $134,682 -Continued after the jump

Carscoop Notes:

We tried doing the same with other cars available in worldwide markets like the new Subaru Impreza WRX or the VW Golf GTi, but in most cases, we couldn’t find pricing on several official sites in a logical timeframe –as you can understand, we couldn’t spend more than 5 to 10 minutes on each site.

Just for the record, we couldn’t find prices for the 350Z on the Turkish, Saudi Arabian, Trinidad & Tobago, Kuwaiti, Jamaican and Chinese Nissan sites, while on the other hand, in countries like Israel, Nigeria, India and Vietnam, the 350Z wasn’t available (or at least, not on the official site).

    In Japan, 350Z's price is 3,370,500 - 4,567,500 YEN.
Which grade is the price on the table?

3,731,794 YEN is not on the official site.

In Estonia the base Coupe model costs €37702 or $55485.

But this comparison doesn't necessarily tell anything other than the amount of taxing that goes on in some countries. For a fair understanding you should take into account the average income of people in these countries, or "how long the citizen of each country has to work to earn this car" or something. :D

Thanks for a fascinating comparison ... it highlights something that often puzzles me ... why are cars so much cheaper in the USA ???
For example ... the Holden Commodore SS costs US$48,200 in Australia while the same car exported to the USA as a Pontiac GT will sell for US$29,995 (how is it possible that shipping across the Pacific Ocean CUTS the price by US$18,000)

Very good idea for a comparison. Good to know South Africans aren't the only ones getting ripped off with ludicrously high car prices.

There needs to be a correction for the South African price though. I assume this comparison is using the base price for the coupe which costs R419,500, or €42,646 or $62,079, not the R453,900 you've quoted in the table, which is the price for the roadster.
