Roewe SUV: Chinese Rover Going Offroad?

While Rover might have never managed to create an SUV of its own, its Chinese offspring, the SAIC owned Roewe that has the rights to manufacture the former Rover 25 and 75 models, is looking into creating one. We’re not sure whether these photos featuring a slightly redesigned version of the SsangYong Kyron SUV are real or simply the work of some photoshop artist, but from what we’ve heard, Roewe will introduce its first SUV model sometime in 2008. -More pics after the jump

"While Rover might have never managed to create an SUV of its own" perhaps you've never heard of Land Rover or Range Rover but both were, in there time, created by and subsidiaries of the Rover car company.

Yes, ROVER NOT LAND ROVER (Range Rover is a model not a make). So, if Land Rover introduces a sedan tomorrow, we wont say it's the makes first attempt in creating one as Rover has already done it?

to clarify, until they were broken up by BMW's sale of Land Rover to Ford in 2000, Land Rover (including the Range Rover brand introduced in 1970) and Rover cars were part of the same company and had been for over 50 years.
