The Mercedes-Benz CLCs That Weren’t Meant To Be

Now, wouldn’t it have been nice if the above rendering had actually managed to convince the decision-makers at Mercedes-Benz’ headquarters in Stuttgart that this is what the 2009 CLC should look like? We would have certainly preferred it from the final design proposition (check out the last two images after the jump) that economically wiggled its way into production. -See the 2009 CLC here or follow the jump for more renderings

It was not long ago that Mercedes-Benz once made cars that BMW was jealous of. This is further proof that they are slipping further behind the competition. Thier designs used to be timeless, elegant, original, avantgarde. Once cars I dreamed of, now ones I loath.

Only the last two sketches provide room for a 2+2 seater. Unless you useally seat guineapigs in the back ;)
