During a recent visit to Maranello, Italy, the hometown of Ferrari, one of our readers spotted a heavily camouflaged prototype performing test rounds in the Fiorano race-track. About 10 minutes later, as he was leaving the race-track, he spotted the camouflaged prototype on the road and he managed to take a picture of it. According to our reader, the Ferrari prototype was a two-seater model and it had a relatively short wheelbase. Though we can’t be sure, from what it seems, it could be a replacement model for the F430. What do you think? -Continued

Thanks for the picture Stel!

Ferrari have said their future models will be smaller and lighter with smaller wheels and brakes to keep kerb weight down and improve dynamics. A good sign of things to come i think.

    It's called camo.....

(Meaning the real shape is hidden under false metal panels and plastic, in case you didn't know...)

    It's definitely a front-engine car. Perhaps a 612 replacement

well, this front engined prototype is very compact for a Scaglietti replacement. The next project under replacement for Ferrari must be the 430, because is the "oldest" chassis in production, having reached it's evolution "limits".
The sound of the engine was amazing, made my heart beat faster...

will make its debut at paris motor show in october. code name F149, based on the grandturismo chassis, will probably deliver between 440hp and 490hp (grandturismo S and F430 outputs). Front engine V8 (derived from F430), ceramic brakes (standard on all upcoming ferraris), and specific lightweight wheels and body parts. will present itself as the ferrai entry model under the F430, with tag price around 140K$ (less exclusive then the alfa 8C, but more then the maserati grandturismo S, CL 63, etc...)
