Along with the all-new 308 SW, this year’s Geneva Motor Show will also form the stage for Peugeot to unveil the new 308 GT THP 175. This new top of the range model is powered by the 1.6 litre turbo-charged THP 175 HP petrol engine, previously found in the 207 GTi THP 175. It is also fitted with a new 6-speed manual gearbox.

The same powertrain is also used in the MINI Cooper S as the 1.6-liter turbo engine has been designed in co-operation with the BMW Group. According to Peugeot, the sporty 308 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.3 sec while it achieves a top speed of 140 mph – 225 km/h. -Continued

Apart from the new powertrain, the 308 GT also benefits from a number of cosmetic changes that include the lower front bumper panel that has a unique appearance, a rear spoiler and a reduced overall ride height. Inside, the interior gains an aluminium gear knob and foot pedals and a new steering wheel design. The 308 GT will be available across Europe this spring.

Great engine but still has the horrible looking proboscis monkey snout and the ghastly "smiley face" grille. Beyond ugly. Where are the beautifully designed 206s and 406s of old?

I agree, although the new grills I ve now some what got used to. Some models just look so tacky with all the all the black tacky plastic. I shudder to think ahead how cheap and grey looking they will look like in years to come.
