Oil Prices Hit Yet Another Record High at $109 a Barrel!
Not that we’re surprised any more since oil prices have been breaking records for months now, but light sweet crude oil for April delivery surged to a new high of $109.72 on the New York Mercantile Exchange today (March 11, 2008). Then again, with the current exchange rates between the USD and the Euro, that calculates to just €70.9 a barrel for our European friends. However, oil prices continue to rise in Europe the same way they do in the States despite the tumbling dollar…

Just bad we here in Germany pay so much more Taxes on fuel, so the high euro doesn't make it so much better.
Right now Prices are at 1,41€ per Liter!!! Which include about 3 quaters of taxes and we even pay a tax on the tax. If the fuel price rises we pay more "Mineralölsteuer" which rises the Prize, and we get another tax on this rised prize (so tax on the tax somehow). Our fuel comes from all the way round the world for about 51€Cent and our Politicans take the rest for themselves (Only minor parts go into roadworks) Our Politcs suck^^
So my Car needs about 8L per 100km (1 mile =~1,6km) So driving is expensive here =(
ben194... if u'd live in Portugal, u'll see the things even worst, don't worry, u should feel happy :D
Same here anon#. I live in Greece and prices are about 1.1 το 1.2 euros a liter. However, we get less than half of your monthly paycheck ben - I'm paid 750 euros a month!
Currently the fuel price in South Africa is around R7,80 per litre for the highest octane available, which at the current exchange rate of R12/Euro is around E0,65. And we think that's expensive! I'm not entirely sure why Europe's prices would be so much higher, has it all got to do with local taxes and subsidies?
in malaysia its currently 0.39 euro a litre... but if its based on an average monthly paycheck, that would be very expensive for lots of ppl...
1.41 euro a litre would be too much for malaysians...
