Land Rover has released a new image gallery of its limited edition Defender SVX that was first announced last November. Built to celebrate the British marque’s 60th anniversary, the Defender SVX will be available in both 90 soft-top and 90 station wagon versions.Offered exclusively in metallic black paintwork, the SVX features subtle satin black graphic decals, special badging, silver finish for the tubular side-steps, the front grille and new clear-lens headlamps. Additionally, all SVX models are equipped with new five-spoke alloy wheels, a reinforced aluminium front undershield and clear LED rear lights. On the inside, the SVX boasts custom-designed Recaro front seats, an iPod cradle and Garmin satellite navigation, alloy gear knobs, a new audio system along with an individually numbered plaque. –Images after the jump

They'd better put airbags and ABS/ESP on that car in stead of fancy sportseats...

Please no ABS and ESP or a swich to turn them off... that should be a mandatory swich in every new car sold.

but i hate the new 2007 model.
the reshaped bonnet makes it look very ugly and losing some of its originality.
and i heard the new engine is a van;s engine? WHY!? i mean the old TD5 engine is so good, so lasting, so reliable. you think that van engine can last long?

This thing is AWESOME! It completely STINKS that it doesn't meet U.S. safety standards. I'd love to get my hands on one.
Why some of you whining about air bags, this british pedigree has always been built for off road performance and therefore engine speeds have always been below 200hp to give way to more punch in the torque...kinda compares to a 2000 mazda protege engine speed. So, if you want one better move out of NA and join the rest of the world!
I hope they make this available in the Philippines. It sad to hear that they are only coming out with 200 units for the D90 SVX 60th anniversary model. They should make it a law to give one unit for every man. This is totally a man's vehicle!
Tata is selling it to any military around the globe - why put in the airbags or anything else to keep this vehicle in the hands of the NA enthusiast. Perhaps its time for JEEP to pull their head out and start building us something that we can rally around much like 90s 110s and FJs. Why don't we buy American? DESIGN.
i have a defender 90 from 1986, and i thought nothing would ever beat that... untill i saw the new svx today... damn, it's good stuff...
It's over for the Defender. There heading in the wrong direction and it's the end of a great era. God I knew this would happen. Looks like everything else on market now. Ugly and un-original. It's lost it's utilitarian look.
