During testing today at
The 2009 CTS-V, which is undergoing the final stages of testing and development is equipped with GM’s new 6.2-litre Supercharged V8 engine that develops an estimated 550Hp. That’s the same unit found in the also new Corvette ZR1 (see here). Only difference is that in the much lighter Vette, the supercharged V8 generates an awesome 638Hp. Makes you wonder how fast the ZR1 can lap the “Ring”… -More pics after the jump

WOW 550hp and soon to be $6.00 a gallon of gas. BRILLIANT ! way to go GM
WOW# How many CTS-Vs is GM going to sell a year? Its like hearing people bitching about Ferraris and how much gas they consume. Get over it. These are sports cars and as such, they don't have any impact in our gas reserves or in nature.
Try bitching about all those V6 powered Camrys, Accords, Malibus and all of those SUVs. They are the ones that sell like hotcakes, they are the ones that consume most of our gass resources
that's awesome.
it's good to see an American company finally step up.
take that BMW!
"ultimate driving experience" my ass.
If GM ever builds this great 550HP car they will have a rebate on them two months out on production. The mind set of the US auto makers is brilliant. They lost 6 billion dollars last year. Brilliant minds at GM, they are not a Ferrari company. What freaking idiot would spend over 60k on a vehicle that will be worth 22k two years later. Wait a minute maybe mannix.
That's one of the only cars that could make me sway and buy a domestic. I'm sure I would change my mind as soon as i sat in it and realized its still cheap American junk.
Wow! sounds like some new M3 and AMG63 Black series owners are having some buyers remorse. Get over it you paid twice as much for less.
