The results for this year’s “International Engine of 2008 Awards” are officially out and no one can be happier from BMW. The German carmaker scooped no less than six engine category wins, including the overall title of ‘International Engine of the Year 2008’ for its 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine.
BMW managed to win the “Best New Engine of 2008” with its 204Hp 2.0-litre Diesel Twin-Turbo unit, while the co-engineered BMW-PSA 175Hp 1.6-litre Turbo engine won the 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre category. The Bavarians also received first prize in the 3.0 – 4.0-liter category with the M3’s 4.0 V8 (what happened to the Nissan GT-R’s 3.8 V6?) and the 4.0-lite and above category with the M5/M6’s 5.0 V10.
The “Best Performance Engine” award was given to Porsche for its 3.6-liter Turbo unit in the 911 Turbo. In the other segments, the Toyota Prius’ hybrid powertrain was prized with the “Green Engine of the Year” award while the Japanese carmaker also won the sub 1.0-liter category with its 3-cylinder Aygo unit. The VW group scooped two awards for its 1.4 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI engines and finally, Subaru won the 2.-liter to 2.5-liter segment with its 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine. -Continued

Well deserved...brilliant engine.
And the winner is ME!! I guessed that the Beamer's twin turbo diesel would take the prize. So it should. Nice work.
LOL - u were wrong, the 3.0-liter twin turbo won not the 2.0-liter twin turbo diesel!
pretty much what i expected!! BMW is the biggest winner without doubts!
