Idiotic List With Celebrity Polluters

Friday, May 02, 2008 | 9 comments » Categories |

A green motoring organization in the UK called “City Car Club” has come up with a list that includes the top-10 celebrities that pollute the most. The Brits added the total CO2 emissions of the celebrities’ automobiles creating an average level of carbon dioxide emissions per kilometer for each star. The list includes celebrities like David Beckham, Simon Cowell, 50 Cent and “Mr Bean” Rowan Atkinson.

Before we have our say, let us note that we wouldn’t care less about the stars in the list but we do care a great deal about the environment. However, we cannot understand the meaning behind this list other than it includes eye-catching celebrity names. They found ten people whose cars pollute two to three-times more than your average Joe’s car – so what? It’s not as if everyone idolizes these people and even if some do, how many of them will buy a Veyron?

And please don’t say that if we take out all the Ferraris and Bugattis in the world, it’s going to make things much better – cause it won’t. In order to make a difference you have to make cars like the Toyota Corolla, Ford F-150 and VW Golf that sell by the millions more eco-friendly and that’s the hard truth. Feel free to agree or disagree with us. -Continued

I have to disagree with you on this one. These are people that our children look up to and they should be the ones who give the right example.

LOl. Yeah Jeremy must be going mad right about now. I sure would be after driving a CCX Enzo and other crazy super cars.

When I read that an entire formula one season's worth of emissions is the equivalency of a one way 747 transatlantic flight, I thought how things have just gotten a little bit silly out there. I love cars and I try to do my bit for he environment, but I'm not going to cry foul because we're singling out celebrities for driving fancy cars even if most of them are prats.

Actually, I"ve never heard of a fair amount of these celebs.
But like a lot of car buffs, they likely don't drive them everyday, all the time.
