Subaru will extend its “STI” offerings in its home market with the introduction of the limited edition Legacy STI S402 Sedan and Touring models that will be available for sale in Japan from June 27. The S402 Legacy STIs are equipped with the same 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine as the US and European Impreza STIs, but in this case, output is restricted to 282Hp at 5,600 rpm and torque to 392 Nm (available between 2,000 and 4,800 rpm). Power is delivered to the wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Other mechanical upgrades include a sport suspension, revised steering system (13:1 ratgio) and more powerful six-pot front and two-pot rear Brembo brakes. Apart from the subtle STi bodykit that includes a carbon-fiber front spoiler, the S402 Legacys feature wider fenders (+20mm) that host a set of beautiful 18-inch BBS alloys wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires (235/40R18). Inside the most prominent features are the leather front bucket seats, the MOMO steering wheel and the “S402” plates. -Image Gallery after the jump

Why can't/won't they bring this to the states man....not that I have a problem with the Spec.B but damn. Show some more love!!! I love my Legacy and would definitely upgrade to this in a heartbeat.

We need more STI options in the US other than the Impreza, this looks like a car that I could definitely get into.

    It's not a Legacy, just a S402. It's based on a Legacy.
