Somehow, the folks over at French car magazine “Autoplus” have managed yet again to get "comfortable" with a totally undisguised example of a future Renault product, this time with the 2009 Scenic III. The third generation of Renault’s mid-sized people carrier is based on a modified version of the 2009 Megane’s platform and like the current model, it too will be offered in two guises; the standard five-seater Scenic and the seven-seater Grand Scenic with an extended-wheelbase. -Continued

As with all previous generations of Renault’s popular mid-size MPV, the Scenic III is expected to offer a wide variety of storage solutions and a fully customizable interior. The Renault Scenic III will most probably make its public debut along with the new Megane at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show in October with sales following in early 2009.

WOW! Not a single attractive design element there at ALL! Everything about the new Scenic is completely out of place! That's pretty hard to do these days! To the tasteless and beyond!

Actually, I like this kind of clean styling pretty much. I don't like cars better when they are the offspring of some designers competing in a the-more-design-elements-per-centimeter -the-better-it-looks-challenge.

I agree, this car is pretty ugly. Terrifying. This can not be serious.

Strange thing is, that this scoop appears have lost every appealing characteristic seen on earlier scoops….

I’m sure. This must be a photoshoped Dacia-proto. Or simply, a joke.

If not, than Renault should kick out their design guys.
Or else, they will lose lots and lots of clients, including me.

I already ordered my second Grand Scenic II.
But, when this design becomes true, it will be my last one.

Hey, what an ugly back. I fully agree with the Dacia-comment above.

The scenic with 5 places is unfortunately very ugly. I had high expectations seeing the new megane :-(

I can live with the rather unusual exterior, it's really a product of the practical nature of the car, ie lots of upright spacious seating front and back. What is still awful though, is the digital dashboard, get rid of this and I'd consider buying one. Not only is it in the middle of the dash' (ie not in the drivers instinctive line of site), you have to read the display. Ergonomically the best setup is round dials directly in front of the driver. This way just a glance is all that is needed to see that everything is as it should be, ie speed, revs, oil, fuel etc. Renault really needs to look at the Cmax, Smax dashboard. cheers Dave Melbourne, Australia.
