As if we’re all going to race our cars at the Nurburgring race track, Porsche has followed in the footsteps of Nissan and Cadillac by announcing its 2009 911 Carrera’s lap times at a media event in Germany. The German sportscar maker timed three different 911 Carreras with the fastest being a Carrera S fitted with Porsche’s all-new double-clutch semi-automated transmission dubbed “PDK”, that turned the Ring in 7 min and 50 seconds.
Second place went again to a 2009 911 Carrera S (apparently equipped with a manual gearbox) with a time of 7:58 min while third place went to an outgoing Carrera S (probably with a manual transmission for comparable reasons) that managed to lap the Nurburgring in 8:02 minutes. We remind you that the 2009 Nissan GT-R lapped the Ring in 7:29 min while Cadillac’s supercharged CTS-V, in 7:59 min.

Ouch!
So let’s see, if I read this right, I can pass on going home to pick up my 32 Ford supercharged small block drag car whenever I want to suck the doors off the Porsche Fanboys on raw acceleration, I can also skip selecting my 40 Ford Coupe with the Nascar engine to scream by Porsche Fanboys at top speed, I can also leave my yellow prowler with the NOZ system at home when I feel the need to pass Porsche Fanboys on the outside of freeway ramps at 100 mph+ with rock steady control – and all I have to do is just trade my STS company car for a new CTS V company car and then have my builder change pulleys on the CTS which will surely pick up the 9 seconds allowing me to spank the Porsche Fanboys in acceleration, top end, cornering and at the same time allowing me to strap my secretary in alongside me and load two young interns in the back for grins…. For $65K and $1,200 per year insurance rates …… the lederhosen crowd has to be soiling themselves…too funny, I may sell the car collection and by the L39 jet trainer I have been lusting after with the proceeds… this is just the best…. I am about to lose control of wind and water…..
It's not all about raw numbers, and if you ask me where the driving experience reigns supreme amongst the three marques listed in the article, my bet is with the Porsche(the slower one with the manual no less). I really doubt the prowler listed above with the nitrous system is stable at 911 speeds. Those cars are best reserved for prom rentals where high school toughsters are trying to impress their date and friends with a "sports" car. Drive a 911 and the Caddy back to back, and see which you would rather take home...
Caddys suck, they are not sports cars and they never will be. Hey next time we all want to go in a f***ing circle we will call you to bring your dumb Nascar, while i stomp your ass in my formula one car(see i can bullshit too!). Prowlers are pieces of sh*t and if yours has NOS (not NOZ) it will blow up soon. Drag cars are also pointless. From what you have been talking about and the cars you "claim " to own, no matter what you drive you will be slow around a track( i am talking a road coarse, not an oval). A Porsche is a precision instrument everything you have mentioned is dumb and sloppy. I conclude with the fact that you, my friend, are a complete and utter idiot who still thinks "AmeriKAN muscle" reigns supreme.
