These are the first official images of the 2009 Kia Forte that will replace the Spectra, or as it’s called in
Unless you paycheck comes from Kia or Hyundai, the Forte’s design brings to mind the Honda Civic (especially the front-end) and if you've had one or two glasses of French wine, you may even find a couple of similarities with the long-gone Citroen Xsara in the styling of the car’s rear quarters. -Continued

the rear is definitely nicer than the civic. the front, nice than USDM civic, but JDM civic front end is nicer than the forte..
oh for gods sake, I am so sick of reading absolute rubbish that new kias look like hondas, because if you actually pay attention there are really obvious major differences.
Is that really a Kia...it looks miles ahead of the honda civic at the bottom of the page. This should sell quite well here in Australia. Hopefully they even sportier versions down the track.
You can see the Civic influence in the upsweep of the grill and headlamps, as well as the flair over the front wheels.
But all-around, I like the look of the Forte over the Civic. The Civic never wowed me.
The new Kia looks better than the honda civic. The front end of the civic looks to much like a mole cricket. My wife and I have tried to like the civic but it is way to hidious of a car.
The rear end definitely lends itself to the 5-door hatchack (note the thick C-pillars and the shape of the bootlid), but otherwise this is a very neatly styled car.
Is this a B-segment (Honda Civic) or C-segment (Toyota Camry) car?
It isn't "absolute rubbish" that this KIa's front end looks like the Civic, from the shape of the headlamps to the front shoulders, it certainly looks inspired by the Civic. Having said that, the Kia is a better looking car.
Actually i see an USDM Acura TSX front end, with a USDM 3 series BMW rear end. I like the look, very nice for its price segment, if Kia follows thru with this in the US, i will be ordering mine!
