Honda Introduces CR-V 2.2 i-CDTi Taxi in Germany

|
Honda CR-V TaxiHow would a diesel-powered Honda CR-V sound to you for a taxi? While we doubt that will happen here in the States –at least not in the near future, in Germany Honda has introduced a new special taxi package for its compact SUV. Priced from €19,990, the taxi package includes among other things, a yellow paintjob, a modified centre console designed to fit the taximeter, extra interior lights and an alarm.

The taxi-prepped CR-V comes equipped with Honda’s 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine that develops 140 PS at 4,000 rpm and a hefty 340 Nm of torque at just 2,000 rpm. Matted to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the CR-V 2.2 i-CTDi can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 10.3 seconds while its average fuel consumption in the combined EU cycle is 6.5 l/100 km or 36.2mpg U.S.

I still can't understand why US would refuse it as a cab ;)
That's a very nice car (just need better interior's finishing...) but who cares for a short taxi ride...
