A Slovenian website called Avtomanija has published a group of photos of what seems to be a prototype version of the forthcoming McLaren F2 supercar that’s scheduled to be launched in late 2010. Of course, it goes without saying that these photos could be the work of a photoshop artist so don’t be hasty to draw a conclusion on the car’s appearance based on what you see here.
McLaren’s new pure-bred two-seater will be based on the P8 mid-engined supercar project that was initially co-developed by the British automaker and Mercedes-Benz as a smaller and lower-priced successor to the SLR but was abandoned by the Germans in 2004. While details are still scarce, it is rumored said that the F2 will be equipped with a mid-mounted V8 powerplant from Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division. -Continued

oh my, that is an ugly one...
The design is solid, but I was hoping McLaren would once again push the envelope as they did with the F1. Although these renderings are not 'final', I can't help but think that this car would get lost when parked next to the Audi R8, upcoming Lotus Esprit, and upcoming Saleen Raptor.
I too wish that McLaren had further pushed the envelope, but its clientele does expect street worthy refinement for their money. Still, I would love to be seen driving one!
Simply gorgeous!! In a time where exotic cars are loosing sexy flowing lines for gaudy air ducts and spoilers, this design has it right!
i thought merc was done with mclaren, why would it have an amg engine?
thing is....... I'm not so sure of these as new images as the rear looks underdeveloped when compared to the official shots of the macca from a few months back that EVO and CAR had featured...?

hmmmmmm??
I too agree this thing looks WAY to safe. yawn
It just looks like the designers have copied the Audi R8
