A couple of weeks ago we posted an article on a rental Hertz Corvette ZHZ that slammed into the sidewalls of a restaurant in "According to the media, I “lost control of my vehicle” trying to avoid a wreck. In reality, a Ford F150 ran a stop sign trying to shoot across Lemmon and caught the tail end of my vehicle. I noticed we were going to collide just prior to impact and accelerated trying to get the hell out of the way. Clearly, that was unsuccessful. The truck came barrelling into my backend, knocking me into a crazy (thinking: “this is gonna hurt like hell”) spin — across oncoming traffic — and somehow landing backwards under the patio at La Madeleine on

ahhh....if a Ford 150 was speeding through and intersection and hit a performance-tweaked Vette (i.e. low shocks, low-pros, basically lower to the ground), the F150 would gobble it up...seems like Joey bit off a little more car than he could chew and is making BS excuses..leave the driving to real men, go back to Hertz!
Well, if his story is true, then I actually feel kinda sorry for him now. I know that here in Texas I've seen my fair share of unintelligent drivers, but this story takes the cake. Only in Texas would a jerk in a pick-up truck run a red light at the cost of possibly taking someone else's life.
...thought if he hadn't accelerated, he probably wouldn't have lost control.
He may have skidded around in a large arc but he wouldn't have hit anything else.
something similar just happened to my husband in our 6 day old corvette. a gold f-150 failed to stop at a two-way stop (my husband having the right-of-way). the f-150 hit my husband, who also when noticed the vehicle was going to hit him, sped up to try and avoid being hit (and killed). the f-150 had my husband airborne twice and ended up in a ditch.
and to the anonymous comment who said, "if he hadn't accelerated, he probably wouldn't have lost control"... that's a very judgemental comment. my husband had control of the vehicle, in fact, the police and witnesses said they're surprised he didn't flip due to being airborne twice. if he hadn't sped up in hopes of avoiding the collision, the f-150 could have slammed right into the driver's door or hit the gas tank and in both scenarios, my husband could have been killed!
i hope they catch these two f-150's that ran stop signs!!!
