Just a few days after the abrupt revealing of the Orlando minivan concept, another Chevy Paris Show model has been fully uncovered. This time it’s the 2010 Cruze sedan and as with the Orlando, it appears that the live shots are from an official GM studio photo shoot of some kind. What’s important here is of course the interior photography as this is the first time that we get a glimpse of the Cruze’s ‘swoopy’ dashboard that borrows a few design elements from the Malibu such as the instrument panel styling. Hit the jump to see the photos and tell us what you think. -Continued
I've been so down on domestic cars for so long but can honestly say cars like this, the Malibu, the Volt and other GM's like the CTS are turning me around. GM styling is finally getting some soul. I wish someone would do the same for Ford and Chrysler.

The font and side look like the european Honda Accord, and the back is all the european Honda Civic. The interrior is a different story as it looks really cheap.

Why must you Honda elitists compare everything to Honda's and claim everyone is copying them? GM is finally turning things around and I think you are scared for Honda because people outside of Michigan might actually start buying American again.

It's a Cavalier, no a Cobalt, no a Cruze. Yawn...

Overall I think the design is clean and tidy, in a generic sort of way. Really not keen on the rear treatment though - very Chinese in look i.e. too much bling and rather anonymous.
Still, much better effort that what we've come to expect and should sell well.
The styling is choppy and doesn't flow very well. That fabric on the interior dash is a horrible idea. The worst part is the name, are they kidding me? I own a Cobalt and was looking forward to the new version. Until now.

What's there not to like? I have been in the car business for almost 20 years, both import and domestic, and be honest, if this carried a import name plate you people would be falling all over yourselves. Also it will have a 1.4l turbo that will give great performance and around 40-45 mpg. I say great job GM. You are going to sell ton of them.

Have you actually looked at the new Accord? I just bought a mid-sized car, and wasn't an Accord Flat out ugly, interior cheap and plasticy. Also, the trunk hinges are the cheapo hook variety, rather than the more expensive strut design.
It's laughable that people still pay a premium for the accourd 'cause it's a "Honda"..

We buy a "Honda" for the reliability and the engine. For the same price would you rather buy something you trust or something your going to be worried about because it's going to "die on you" whether electrically or mechanically.

all 4 of my GM vehicles have never "died on me" the 3 previous vehicles with well over 100k on them including 1 with over 240k on it...my moms one and only import purchase...an 03 honda accord had the transmission completely eat itself in the middle of rush hour traffic...oh and it had 42k miles...hmmm ill take gm quality any day
NICE! I love the interior (including the fabric touches on the dash), and the exterior does not offend. The new Malibu is very nice, and the Cruze looks to be following it in it's tire tracks.
I agree with the previous poster; the new Accord is cheap, plastic-y, and downright ugly. I too am a foreign car owner, but GM is changing my mind. Their quality and direction is definitely headed up, while the Japanese are stuck in a slight downward trend (IMO).

I have to agree, Honda buyers need to open their eyes. All the new Honda/Acura models are rather unpleasing to the eye.
As far as reliability goes, I don't know why people lump Honda in with Toyota. Honda didn't even make the top five most reliable brands. And now Consumer Reports is starting to test new Toyotas because Toyotas aren't as reliable anymore. Consider how reliable a Honda is if Toyota isn't even reliable.
On a more personal note, I've owned two Chevrolets, a Camaro and currently a Blazer. I have not had any problems related to reliability. More importantly, both cars have never left me stranded on the side of a road.
