2010 Lexus RX SUV Brochure Leaked into the Web!

|
2009 Lexus RX RX350 & RX 450hThe official Japanese brochure of the all-new 2010 Lexus RX has somehow found its way into the internet giving us our first glimpse of the luxury SUV that is slated to make its world premiere at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show in November with sales expected to begin in the first half of 2009. From what we can tell by looking at the pictures from the scanned brochure, Toyota Lexus seems to have maintained the current RX's crossover-ish silhouette adding a few modern design elements to the mixture like the sculpted lower parts of the doors and a new front grille. Inside it appears that the Japanese automaker has completely overhauled its luxury crossover model which now features a more stylish dashboard with a swoopy-looking center console. -Continued

Details are still scarce as we speak, but in what concerns the Japanese market at least, the next generation RX will be offered in two guises, the petrol-only RX350 and the petrol-hybrid RX450h.

That actually looks attractive. But i thought they would at least offer a 3rd row like its Highlander sibling. Looks like LEDs on the headlights too. Can't wait for hi res pics.

Glad to see them finally putting the L-Finesse design philosophy on the RX. This does look pretty attractive, I'll admit.

that just looks like a venza with a bit more chrome. and i dont think that interior will be a popular design in NA, especially in the USA. its very "asian" and the asymmetricalness and lines of the dash are just odd and ones similar to this dont do well in that market.

Ok now that looks like a jacked up camry with cheap aftermarket rear lamps. They have worsened the glasshouse, if that was possible. Note to designer: That kink on the rear window looks nice on a Ford Focus hatchback, but on a jacked up "SUV" like the RX it just looks clumsy and awkward. A design flop by Lexus..

An RX brochure in Japanese? Does that mean the new generation will not be sold as Toyota Harrier but as Lexus RX in JDM?

After hiring renowned Italian designer Leonardo Fioravanti (LF design) who created the current IS Sedan and LS limo, Lexus reverted to their own in-house team for the new IS convertible and RX models. It shows. The Japanese excel at attention to detail and electronics, but they suck when it comes to basic engineering dynamics and design. I thought Lexus was starting to up its game. Instead it is rapidly descending into premium-priced mediocrity. Look what that did for Jaguar and Ford. The real pity is that the RX concept that's been seen at various shows was a real looker. i guess it doesn't matter anyway, since no one is buying SUVs any more.

Andy car guy, heck, most people do NOT want the 3rd row of seat, crikey, there are enough of those mammoth vehicles on the road now; different strokes for different folks, suits me just fine the way it is, your results may vary (buy a van or small bus if you need seats) :)
