If we are to believe a report from the Dutch car site 'Autoweek', these are the first official photos of the facelifted Porsche Boxster and Cayman models, both of which are due to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November according to Carscoop's sources. The site claims that these pictures were sent to them by an anonymous reader who accidentally happened to stumbled upon them on Porsche's online car configurator. -Continued
Needless to say, we immediately went ahead and checked out several Porsche sites -even though the configurator seems to be the same everywhere- but we did not find anything of the sort.
We did however configure a Boxster adding the same rear diffuser and front spoiler lip as well as the different alloys. We also download the pictures so you can see the similarities for yourself -see below. The only differences between the allegedly official Boxster and Cayman facelift models with their current siblings are the egg-shaped headlights (we thought Porsche was done with those...), the dual exhaust pipes, the sharpet looking LED lights on the front bumper and the slightly different tail lamps.
Are the images the real deal or the work of a cunning photoshop artist? We'll leave that for you to decide.

Still ugly. Some may say Porsche's design (that's singular folks) is timeless...I say they've been hit with an Ugly stick!
What a shock! A complete redesign by Porsche! Finally they've done something new, and not a minute to soon. Sigh.
As boring as Porsche redesigns may be, I believe this is a photochop due to the jagged highlight light the rear of the supposed new Boxster right where the tailight would have ended on the photo of the 2008 Boxster. It might be based on reality of an upcoming Porsche redesign, but I stand by as saying photoshopped.
*Agreed ... Porsche in general will never alter the basic shape of its vehicles. It's not really a drastic change, so there's nothing to get all hyped up.
If I must, I'll say that the rear end is definitely no good. Who thought of blending those tail lights with that rear end?
Porsche needs to stop 'redesigning', and start coming up with new and fresh ideas. Please stop with switching back and forth between two types of headlights, and call it a redesign. Maybe they need some new designers. If you can even call them designers that is...
