Mazda not only confirmed earlier reports by announcing that the sedan version of the all-new Mazda3 (known as Mazda Axela in Japan) will indeed be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19, but the Japanese automaker also released the first batch of official shots. While retaining the basic shape of the current model, Mazda's designers adorned the new 3 with styling elements from their latest models and especially the Mazda6 and the RX-8. Some could even say that the 2010 Mazda3 looks like a more compact and aggressively styled version of the Mazda6 -especially the Euro and Japan spec model. Either way, both are right. -ContinuedTechnical details are limited to the initial engine range for the North American model which will be available with 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline units. As for the equally interesting 5door hatchback variant, Mazda simply said that it will be revealed in line with the company's global sales schedule. However, from what we know, the new Mazda3 5d will be revealed at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy in December.

RX-7? Don't you guys mean RX-8?
As for the Mazda3, it's a pretty neat. Kinda expected they were going in this direction because the Mazda6 was a good indication of where they were taking their designs, but this is actually pretty cool. If it were between a Civic, a Corolla, and this, I definitely go with this one.
Yes and thank you for noting that Jenny. I'd like to see it up close, but I agree that the first impressions are positive.
looks good outside, im sure the interior will be similar to the Mazda 6 - nice if a little bland. Cant wait for the MPS version
Attractive but slightly boring after all the concepts Mazda's been throwing around.
I also think it looks too much like a 6 that's been shrunk by about 10%. There's absolutely nothing in it's styling that hasn't been seen on another Mazda. Why do car manufacturers think it's a good idea that all their models look like clones of each other?
Any chance of a diesel variant this time around?
Someone should tell Mazda that they shouldn't overdo the white glass for the rear lights. They make the car look cheap and like some aftermarket afterthought.
Actually, it does not look like they touched the greenhouse at all, so this might not be an "all-new" but a refresh of the current car. Which - as an earlier post said - a little disappointing after six model years.
this car's rear looks like a mazda 6 and a mitsubishi evo x mix together.
i realy like it :D im only 19 so its good to see a car that looks hot :) and dosnt cost a fortune to own.... oh n iv seen the interior :) the top of the dash looks a wee bit like the new civic's :) with the mazda 6's steering wheel (well the euro version anyways)
