The potent GT-R is proving to be extremely popular with the Japanese media that simply can't get enough of Nissan's twin-turbocharged supercar. Following earlier speculations for a GT-R based Infiniti sports sedan, Japanese magazine Best Car is now reporting in its latest issue that Nissan is also working on a 4door-coupe variant of the GT-R. -ContinuedThe vehicle would supposedly use a stretched version of the coupe's FM platform along with all the mechanical hardware including the 480HP twin turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine, the sophisticated all wheel-drive and the dual clutch semi-auto transmission.
The computer rendering you see above gives us a pretty good idea of what the GT-R sports sedan would look like if Nissan were to actually produce such a model. This is not the first time we've heard rumors about Nissan considering the possibility of developing an BMW M5 rival off the new GT-R, and it certainly won't be the last.
But unless we see some sort of hard evidence in the form of let's say scoop pictures of a prototype test model, a four-door GT-R will remain nothing more than a rumor.

Four-door coupe my ass, it's a sedan, a SEDAN!!! :-)
Next up the GT-R wagon. You can pick up the kids from soccer practice on the weekdays, and smoke the Corvettes, Vipers, Porsches and Ferraris on the weekend. :-)
This Nissan is the face of performance cars of the future. An exquisite balance of drive system suspension and control that allows a $70,000 vehicle to reach areas of the performance envelope once reserved for million-dollar vehicles.
A decade from now every US manufacturer will have a comparable model. The sad part is they could've done it 20 years ago, kind of makes you wonder about how and exactly why they kept the Skyline predecessor of this car out of America for so long.
It's funny how some people want to hold back progress, it would seem that they often view progress as a threat. From a practical perspective that doesn't make much sense, does it.
Blitz ER34 is one of the sexiest 4doors ever, but if Nissan would make a full blown 4wd 480hp 4door GT-R... that would be the new king of the hill and absolutely no1 performance saloon in the world (come on, aren't you fed up with german "perfect" V10 powered cars?!)
Nissan did produc 4door E33 GT-R in limited amounts, so the idea of 4door GT-R is nothing new. I really hope that they make it :)
im sick of these 4 doors being called coupe's. Its a bloody saloon/sedan not a coupe. 2 doors is a coupe not 4.
looks rubbish in 4 door anyway
This one is even worse, mainly because they didn't alter the design to make it seem or feel like a coupe. But, if they did, I'd say no to it.
Regardless of how its labeled, it looks like a good design on paper, but who knows how it'll look and how it'll change once they put a prototype out.
Where's the digital shotgun when you need it?
This is just a mis-translation.
Magazine title says 4 door sedan
not coupe.

there are so many cars outside of the US that we should have access too. then we would have more of variety and price. but were stuck with what we have.
