Dodge RAM 2009 TRXtreme SEMA 2008

Playing up the off-road capabilities of the 2009 Ram with the TRX package, the Mopar Underground Design Team is readying an upgraded version of Dodge's full-size pickup truck for the SEMA Show. The Ram TRXtreme gains an extra 4.5-inches of ground clearance allowing the use of 20-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in chunky BFG 37X12.50's. -Continued

The modified pickup truck also gets a two-tone paint job that incorporates a mud splash theme, a Mopar tuned dual exhaust system, tube steps, telescoping mirrors, a bed accessory system, a neat one-off steel hood with cooling louvers and larger grille. Changes in the interior include a Mopar navigation system, DVD headrests and Mopar leather seats by Katzkin.

Like Dodge's other SEMA concept truck, this one better be equipped with locking differentials front and rear, and deep 4.0:1 transfer case gearing if it's ever going to really be anything more than a "mall crawler". No off-road machine is worth the metal from which it's made if it doesn't have the traction and gearing to be able to go where real off-roaders need to go.
