The Dodge Challenger R/T Blacktop is yet another concept vehicle being prepared by the Mopar Underground team that will sit alongside the Viper V10-powered Challenger SRT10 (see here) and the Challenger Targa (click here for photos and details) at the Dodge SEMA Show booth in Las Vegas. The Blacktop is based on the new Challenger R/T equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and six-speed manual transmission. The V8 engine has been enhanced with the addition of Mopar components, including a cat back dual-exhaust and cold air intake. -Continued
Apart from the two-tone paint scheme and red stripping, the Challenger Blacktop features custom-made spoilers and front brow along with 22-inch Dodge Viper wheels from Factory Reproductions wrapped in Dunlop tires measuring 265/35 R22 front and 305/30 R22 rear. Inside the cabin has been upgraded with Katzkin leather seating finished in bright red plus a Mopar Kicker audio system.

Not that I do not love this stuff, but isn't a car like this so very out-of-sync with today's world? Yes, there is the contrarian view, but these cars have been reduced to nothing more than trailer queens for show purposes. Chrysler needs to get real in its performance division and use newer technologies representing today's world, not some bygone era of more than three decades ago.
Why is it out of sync? Oil is dropping in price, Global warming has been proven to be just a fantasy to make idiots like Al Gore extremely rich at your expense. Electric cars are still garbage and fuel cell technology is 20 years off. IF you don't like it don't buy it. Drive your Prius to your windmill powered community collective apartment. Just leave the rest of us who actually want cars that are different than every other 4cyl econo box alone.
