Under-the-hood changes involve the addition of a specially engineered supercharger to the Audi R8's stock 4.2-liter V8 engine. In addition, a ram-charged sport air filter system and a high performance exhaust system made of stainless steel have been designed and added specifically to work in conjunction with the supercharger system. The result, after these modifications, is an output of 580HP at 7,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm at 6,200 rpm. In addition to these improvements, PPI's R8 features extensive suspension upgrades with a new coil over kit developed in conjunction with technology partner KW Automotive GmbH as well as enlarged 6-pistonbrake callipers in connection with extra-large discs measuring 380 x 36 millimeters at the front and 356 x 32 mm discs at the rear axle. The German firm also developed a wide bodykit that promises to improve downforce and aerodynamic stability. The Razor GTR rides on specially designed lightweight MAG11 forged PPI wheels. At the front, the 19-inch alloys are wrapped in 255/35 ZR 19 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires while at the rear-end, the 20-inch alloys are fitted with 325/25 ZR 20 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires. PPI has also upgraded the interior of the German supercar with high-quality Onyx Nubuck-leather complemented by orange-coloured accents and highlights. Additionally, PPI equips the limited edition RAZOR GTR with extensive Carbon Fibre throughout the cockpit.
If you're searching for one of the most extreme Audi R8s around, then look no further than to PPI Automotive. The German tuner has announced that it will unveil the production version of last year's wild R8 RAZOR concept at the upcoming Essen Motorshow (29 November to 7 December). The Audi specialist turned its focus on increasing performance, improving handling dynamics, and reducing the weight of the R8. The result is the Razor GTR that will be produced in a limited number of units.
Furthermore, PPI Automotive's engineers put the R8 on a strict diet managing to achieve a weight decrease of 250 kg / 551 pounds over its serial counterpart that tips the scale at 1,580 kg / 3,483 lbs. The Razor GTR is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 3.7 seconds with a maximum top speed of 332 km/h.
