Another week, another set of teaser pictures of Toyota's worst kept secret, the 2010 Prius Hybrid. This time, the Japanese automaker has released shots of the new compact hybrid's engine compartment, headlight, the Lexus Hybrid inspired illuminated Toyota logo and what appears to be a door handle. The third generation Prius will make its physical debut at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. From what we know up until now, the new car is going to be bigger than the outgoing model and it will feature a more powerful yet more fuel efficient and tightly packaged hybrid drivetrain system. What i like about it...
1)The car has a arch in its design that really stands out.
2)From the front to the back the car rises. Looks really nice and furture like.
3)The headlights are really cool. Like the LS600
4) allot of space also.
5) the interior looks really clean and nice. Not over done. The small shifter is nice also
Awful. Absolutely awful. The 8-bit digital display and abundance of cheap, gray plastic remind me of everything that was wrong with cars in the 80s & 90s.
The sad part is, people will buy this shit-box, encouraging Toyota to build more garbage just like it.
Agreed, compared to Honda's Insight Hybrid, and borrowing reference from Honda's recent form in creating wonderful interiors with good choice of materials and design, these images shown by toyota is unbelievably awful, and those plastics are exactly what you'd find in malaysia/china/india made cars.
InteInterior is awful compared to Insight Hybrid. Instrument table looks ugly, lots of cheap grey plastic. The only thing that I like is an illuminated "Toyota" logo
some how i like that interior
and i feel it will be much better in life
just waitin 4 NAIAS and see it
sorry Mr... Car Rentals but i have to agree with the others on this one. that is just horrible! as a young designer that just makes me want to curl up in the foetal position and cry :( tho i have to admit that i quite like the blue glow on the badge... but thats it :) everything else is about as interesting as erectile dysfunction (along with most other cars by toyota)
but that's just my opinion... and as they saying goes... "one mans garbage is another mans treasure" or something...
Toyota builds another soul-less car? No kidding! I'd like to know how the heck Toyota has so many people brainwashed... Toyota cars are such garbage.
no! is this new prius ı think so this model is draft about first prius from 1990 :-) is this need to be nice better than older model?
Hey "anonymous" (from 12/24) --- Toyota does not have people brainwashed as you say - they build clearly the best quality vehicle at the most reasonable price. No other manufacturer comes close to their unbeatable quality. Toyota cars are not garbage - they're the best deal on the road. Get a clue, idiot!
hahaha!!!
Corollas are the best!
it's the perfect car for people who care absolutely nothing about cars --- and what's with the 1991 remote?
Ahhhh whoever posted "No other manufacturer comes close to their unbeatable quality." -- do you actually know who makes cars?
There are a number of companies who make them, you may know some besides Toyota but based on your comment, you may be drooling all over yourself wondering 'Where does the sun go at night'...it is unfortunate that we've made computers and the internet so accessible that anyone who can string a few words together can contribute....Honda rules, Ford is getting better and Toyota just had a few major recalls. As they expand their line-ups and pump out any car they can shlep in the US, quality will be impacted and it has....get your facts straight and stay out of the paste.
