It has come to the point where this blatant copying of Western car designs from Chinese auto manufacturers is getting totally ridiculous. The Tong Jian S11 that was reportedly revealed at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year but somehow escaped our radars, borrows several styling cues from a number of vehicles including the Audi R8-esque profile and the Ferrari-inspired tail design.

The Tong Jian S11 is said to be a hybrid sports car that presumably combines electric motors with an internal combustion engine. There are no specific details on the car's mechanics nor if it is scheduled to enter production at some point.

"Made in China" stickers can be found on virtually anything...

...except on things made of orginality.

Jumping Jack Squat! What sort of inbred styling is this abomination?

  3. Anonymous » June 30, 2009

it reminds me of a fiat coupe except that where the fiat coupe was cool and original this is lame and derivative ...

Reminds me of cars you see in games like Burnout Paradise.

Oh come on you guys...those tail lights look pretty darn cool! Now, they might fall out from their hubs as you start picking up speed, but that's another problem. At least you'll pick 'em up in style.

what the hell??? who will buy these kinds of cars???

Looks like it's got some GT-R in the mix, too. If the chinese can sell it for $30,000, I'm in! :D

    Maybe not so bad
Looks a lot better than the Ferrari and R8

Personally I think it looks very nice, much better than some american and japanese cars.

haha throw in an LS6 in it and i'm in! looks pretty cool. The roof line and C pillar remind me of an Altima coupe, maybe someone will start a weekend project and make a replica of this replica using one.

It takes the best of both worlds and blends them into a much nicer looking package. Only the dash looks unoriginal to me.

    Disgusting in everyway.

i see a ferrari rear, but not an audi profile. the nose smells more like the new mitsu (evo x) design if you ask me. but i do see a "911" badge on the rear! lol.

seriously guys, have a laugh at it. no sense getting upset about the chinese copying. they have been copying everything from shirts to mobile phones ...

I am from Hong Kong... what a shame that my country produces shits like this!

  16. Anonymous » July 01, 2009

The dash isn't much of a copy, it's rather a much of other car's dash parts assembled together.

It's got a new Audi A4's Speedo stack and headlight switch, Mark5 Golf/Rabbit steering wheel and airbags

It's actually an S11 badge in the rear, it looks like 911 due to the font.

It needs bigger wheels and more assuring quailty to convince us it's a good car.

This is retarded. why do they do this ?

  18. Anonymous » July 01, 2009

not bad but the R8 treatment to the side really turns me off. Ripping off other people's designs is pretty shitty.

    Audi/Mustang/Altima/Ferrari/GTR/350Z/

Not to bad for 'Cherry Picking'.

Until the Chinese set up their Design dept's. in So Cal we will see this 'mish mash' of copied design details from other makes. Everybody does it, but since the beginning of automotive design occurred primarily in the West there will always be that influence (Imprint) on auto design.

Love the tail lights and dash.

Bring this in under the price (Sub $18.000) of a Genesis 2.0T Coupe with similarly equipment and performance and young buyers just might line up to buy it.

Exceptional perceived value is going to rule the day, now, and future car sales.

Looks like Geely is the most popular car company on Carscoop. Look at the no. of comments for their posts.
Luv it r hate it you can't ignore it.

The chinese are smart, many people would want an R8 or a Ferrari, so they combine both in a very cheap accessible sports car.

  22. Anonymous » July 02, 2009

    Wrong !!! Wrong !!! Wrong !!!

  23. Anonymous » July 03, 2009

Definitely some Altima coupe profile in there. I also see a little RX8 in the front end. Remember, Hyundai and Kia did some copying (still do!) and look where they are now. Unfortunately these may just be some growing pains from the Chinese. They have the resources to become a big player in the auto market. I remember when people used to laugh at any Japanese product. Watch out!

I really wonder how much money those chinaman pay you guys to put this on the site?!

  25. John » July 11, 2009

I really wonder about a lot of things too...

  26. W2M » July 12, 2009

    give it a break already

how at all is this car a r8 and a Ferrari. Why, because it has slats on the side? the dual oval tail lights? Look at the corvette, it has it too, is that a Ferrari rip off? The Mercedes smart car has the dual lights too, must be a exotic rip off. there are only so many designs you can come up with, some cars are bound to resemble others in certain areas. Did you expect them to make square tail lights?

wow it looks like a gt-r,r8,Ferrari fail
    in my opinion

  28. Anonymous » August 27, 2009

    OMG FAIL.

Sometimes I just wish China was still in the dark ages of pure 100% communism with zero Western input. It'd be much better that way.
