We're feeling kind of lame for missing out on the videos, but here's the story in brief - no pun intended. The USA Today reported that General Motors ordered Youtube to remove a string of videos starring the so-called "Bumblebee Boys in Briefs". The footage, which was created in conjunction with GM's recent "Chevrolet Gay Day at the Movies" Los Angeles gig for the latest Transformers film, featured a couple of boys that like boys in yellow underwear bathing a new Camaro.
General Motors spokesman Dave Barthmuss told the USA Today that "the video was not appropriate and not in good taste" adding that the firm's executives decided that the "batch of vignettes was not the way we wanted to represent the brand to the general public".
Strangely enough, and even though the videos were up on Youtube well before the June 28 event in LA, Barthmuss said that he hadn't seen the footage up until now.
Understandably, since we haven't seen the videos with the "go-go boys" and the Camaro, we can't possibly comment on the story - at least not in a serious way.

oh damn, I miss that.
FYI GM. Gays sometimes drive. Gays sometimes have steady jobs and large disposable incomes because they don't hve families (i.e.: children). So gays sometimes have money. Gays sometimes follow trends and fashions. The Camaro is something of a fashion statement. Some gays would drive a Camaro. You're not selling very many cars right now. Your finances have seen better days. Work it out! Can you afford to be so bloody backwards? Not in good taste? Idiots.
is it just me or has subaru used the gay population SUCESSFULLY since the 80's? &&& gays don't SOMEtimes follow trends or SOMEtimes have money, every gay guy or guy i've ever met seems to have it all, including hot new cars. come to think of it tho, they're always in Audi, BMW, Benz, or something else, and they're not hurting for $ to afford it. so maybe its good they pulled the videos, why would they drive a Chevy???
i've seen the video - it wasn't bad. they weren't even being sexual or anything. in fact, i'd say [for marketing - their excuse!] the "baywatch" girls washing cars in bikini's and wet t's are MUCH worse than the gay marketing ads around. the girls (not complaining) are in wet clothing and rubbing their top half on the antenna & hood. these guys were literally just washing a car & talking about how cool it was. wtf. maybe Dave's just pissed cuz they had much better bodies than he. ha!
I'm a gay man who WAS about to purchase a black camaro...but wait, GM doesn't like to see men in shorts (vs women with big gazoombas in wet T-shirts) so they abolish the video?? Who gives a damn! I've bought cars for years from seeing "straight ads" and now, something a little more geared to my world and GM says it's in bad taste?
I'll check out the "non-gay frearing Ford" Mustang now...so long GM!!!
For those of you who have not seen the video, it was a real short clip with Josh Griffin and Kris Martin washing a car. The script goes something like:
Announcer: thanks for washing our car
Kris: yea it was really dirty just like you, such a dirty car
Josh: laughs
end of "commercial"
Now boy that's in real racy {sarcasm}
