Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing Photo: Genuine or Fake?

Could this scanned photo from the latest issue of German car magazine, Autobild, be providing us with our fist look at the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing? Hard to say, but we reckon that even if the photo has been digitally tampered (aka Photoshoped), what you see here shouldn't be too far off from the production car that's slated to hit showrooms in the spring of 2010.

The SLR McLaren's replacement that is being developed in-house by Mercedes-Benz's AMG division, will be powered by a front mounted 6.3-liter V8 engine producing 571 HP.

According to a previous release from the Stuttgart-based automaker, the SLS AMG should hit the 100km/h (62mph) mark from standstill in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 315 km/h or 196 mph.

    I bought the issue today. There are 3 more photos on the inside of the magazine. They show the car from behind, the front and the side. One (small) part of the car is always hidden. They are a bit fuzzy but look genuine to me, nevertheless.
    I don't like MB very much but this one looks stunning.

    If you ask me this is the real thing, there are many resemblances with the teasers and the sketches.

    Dont like the front! It looks to "kind" in a way. The rear looks promising, but maybe a bit BMWish?

    but i dont think this classic grill fits the aggressive appeal of the car...
    with that said, cars in photos dont always look they way the look in real life. even this resembles the original SL i would still say this car superb!

    if it's real then it's a disappointment, definitely not aggressive enough for the car it is. i was looking forward to it but now with this picture i could care less.

    I hope it's fake. Its UGLY. The character lines of the car don't flow like most exotics. Very plain, and almost KIT car looking.
