Iso Rivolta Marella Design Study Based on Corvette ZR-1

|
A Russian student from the Moscow State University of Industrial and Applied Arts has revived the famous Italian brand Iso Rivolta through a conceptual design study that was created as part of a "school" project in collaboration with Italy's Zagato design house. Fedor Stetskevich's proposal is called the Iso Rivolta Marella and it is based on the underpinnings of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - you know, the one that's powered by a supercharged V8 engine cranking out 640 ponnies.

All that in theory of course as the Iso Rivlota Marella exists only on paper and as a scaled down model. Overall we'd say that, while there are certainly attractive elements to the design, we reckon that Stetskevich's study needs more work to look the part.

Looks like the Ferrari 575 GTZ zagato concept.
That was a beautiful car, this is a russian knock off.

Is there a G and an L somewhere in there? Then yes.

Why try when you cant do well :@

its amazing how you guys find "rip-offs" I think we could do a contest about this.

"is anyone thinking what im thinking? a word that starts with an U and ends with Y?"

The South American nation of Uruguay?

Anyway, I'm not too fond of that Zagato thing going with the rear window.

I really wonder what people see in Zagato designs...

Again, I still have to wonder, 'have any of the detractors' ever attempted to design a car?

Rip-offs? Everything post-war is derivative of Pinin Farina's 1937 Lancia Aprilia berlinetta aerodinamica and it's 1947 Cisitalia 202 Coupe...> www.pininfarina.com/index/storiaModelli/timeline/1930.

So 'Critics'... design a car not using any of the iconic elements first employed by Pinin Farina.

Sergio! We should have a design contest for critics who offer no analytically constructive comment. That contest could never happen as the only talent in that bunch is for useless negativity, and even that is limited.

Revolting!

@3Deuce27
I agreed with you 150% I was just being sarcastic ;)

Okay now I tread lightly as I have little less than no info regarding this...
I was so keen when I found out that a concept car from South Africa had made its way to the Geneva Motor Show in march, I am speaking of the Perana Z-one see www.perana.com but on doing my rounds I bump into this piece of something distasteful. In one hand I hold the promise of an engineering accomplishment for South Africa and the legacy of a racing legend Mr. Basil Green and in the other this school boys rendition and as I step back and view this set of almost identical twins I can't help but wonder who is ripping off who.
Now as I said I have very little to go on so I make no accusations I simply would like some answers from anyone who does know.

@ Sergio

My suspicions and take on your comment was correct...Thanks for the clarification Sergio.

Sure is curious? Perana 'Z-One' by Zagato and Perana Performance Group, and the Iso Rivlota Marella
Seem to be to much alike to make a case for spontaneous creativity. Both are clearly derivative of the Ferrari 575 GTZ Concept by Zagato.

Never the less, Fedor Stetskevich is still a talented designer and model maker.

Additionally..........>

The Perana Performance Group is calling for 999 unit run of the Perana Z-One at a price of $75.000. If the build quality and the chassis sort is up to my minimum specs, and they can hold to that price point, then my Piggy bank is in trouble.

Lol! What am I thinking? If they can hold that price point, they will be gone faster then the original 427 Cobra's. Another car I couldn't snag. By the time I saw and read the ad, the Cobra's were gone and out of production.

PS! As I recall the 427 Cobra's were around $6.750. You can multiply that by a minimum of 100 now.

Thank you for the response, just to clarify though my comment of "…this something distasteful,” refers to the overall appearance of possibly something wrong with the design ethics and quite frankly being disappointed that the fault may even be South African and not the pictured vehicle. My ”…school boy” comment was intended to enforce my point that what it has taken a group of South Africans years to accomplish has seemingly been taken in the stride of this young chap.
No finger pointing but I also do not want to be lead down a garden path by my fellow countrymen just to find that this is just a copy of someone else’s hard work.

'FG'

Appreciate your well considered position regarding this issue.

Clearly the design of Iso Rivlota Marella is derivative of Nori Harada'a efforts. Harada and crew penned the Perana 'Z-One' and the Ferrari 575 GTZ Concept.

By the way, the Perana 'Z-One' was supposed to available in Europe and presumably S. Africa in July of this year. Rather optimistic I would surmise, but if any one has any info or Pic's on a production Perana 'Z-One', send them to CARSCOOP at 'Send Us A Tip'(See far right column under 'Recent Comments').
