Tokyo '09: New Nissan NV200 Vanette Taxi

|
Along with the far more interesting Leaf EV, Land Glider Concept and the Fuga flagship sedan, Nissan announced that it will also launch a new taxi based on the NV200 Vanette at this month's 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. According to the automaker, the NV200 Vanette Taxi has been designed to address and support the "ever-more-important needs" of Japan's elderly and disabled as it includes numerous features such as rails that make it easier to enter and exit the vehicle. Sales of the NV Vannete cab will start in Japan towards the end of the year.

Looks and fashion are not contesting here as practicality is seemingly the only contender. But the at least it is not hard on the eyes, also make a panel van of it and it should sell.

Great idea! Such reasonably-packaged van is much more suitable than our current vehicle for taxicabs:Crown Comfort from Toyota and Cedric Sedan from Nissan. For great ergonomics and clever space-oriented packaging filled in a moderately sized body, the Nissan NV200 Vanette has tremendous potential,I believe.
