2011 Ford Fiesta: U.S.-Spec Hatch and Sedan Leaked Online, Mega Gallery with 125 Photos

|
Only two days before the 2011 Ford Fiesta's premiere at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show, and a comprehensive gallery depicting what is claimed to be the North American market version of car, has made its way onto the internet. We don't have any official information on the subcompact model that will be offered in the States as a five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan, but the photos show that Ford's US division made a few minor yet noticeable stylistic changes on the car's exterior design.

Compared to its European sibling, the 2011 Fiesta hatchback gets a slightly different upper grille along with a reshaped bumper housing a revised lower air grille and large chrome scoops at both corners. At the rear, the only visible changes concern the larger lower lights strips and the more pronounced bumper trim in the center.

In what concerns the Fiesta four-door sedan, it features a somewhat gaudy three-bar grille up front while at the back, Ford designer's tweaked the rear bumper and added a different set of tail lights that are reminiscent of the Taurus sedan.

Trim aside, the interior appears to have remained intact in both cars.

We'll have more on the Fiesta as soon as Ford comes out with an official release.

Any chance the US could get the RS version?

I like it! I drove this car at the motortrend auto show here in Vegas and this car is really really good! I hope that Ford puts their ecoboost engine and a sport model or package because when I drove this car it is nimble, light, and fun to drive, also corners well! Great job Ford!

For those that complain it does not look like the Euro-spec models, I am sure that Ford will have OEM parts for those Fiesta owners that want the Euro-spec look.

Ford is trying their damnest to pry me away from other brands soley on looks alone.

Sad to say it's working. I'll wait for the press release.

The euro one is nice from outside, but I'm still not sold with the dashboard and its starwars design.

Three door hatch would be the way to go....most interesting, sporty, and radical look. The sedan is a yawner.....

Keep it up, Mr. Mulally!!!!!!

Hope their dynamic ability remains intact...!

Then that will scare their Japanese rivals, unless of course it is built in Mexico (just like the first Focus) in which case they'll be laughing!

Throw in a nice high revving, high performance four cylinder, and I'll buy the hatchback yesterday!

Overall, I still like it. Not a fan of the grill change on the hatch or the removal of the lower ridge in the front fascia, but I certainly like the crome scoops and minor change to the opening below the grill. Glad they kept the interior as well.

Here's hoping the handling and performance stick around. And if they do the rumored 1.0L 3-cyl EcoBoost or a turbo diesel, it'll easily move to the top of my list. As for the three door, I'm not too worried. Looks are nice, but practicality wins out with cars for me(that's why I have a motorcycle).

I love it !!! I have been looking forward to this car for a couple of years now and can't wait to get one. 5 door is the preference in this garage, but the sedan is ok, too.

The 3 door European hatch is the best looking of the lot. Why not bring that here? What gives Ford? Are North American consumers second class citizens? This is why the big 3 continue to fail. Why not bring over the Mondeo?
