Just last week, Volkswagen released a second teaser sketch of its new mid-size sedan that will go on sale in the fall of 2011 replacing the Passat in its North American lineup. However, if history has taught us anything, chances are that the actual production model will be even less exciting than the initial sketches suggest. With this in mind, Eduardo Oliveira from Brazil's 'Irmaododecio' used both drawings from VW to come up with a more realistic take on the new model.

Needless to say, it's anyone's guess if Oliveira's rendering comes close or not to Volkswagen's forthcoming proposal in the mid-size sedan segment.

The yet to be named sedan will be built at Volkswagen Group of America's new Chattanooga, Tennessee production facility.

There are way better looking and more reliable cars out there, that are less expensive to buy and maintain. Can't imagine why anyone would choose this over them. Oliveira's illustration actually looks better than the sketch, but there is still nothing exciting or interesting about it.

Realistically? The trunk/bumper is wrong, the rear door shape is wrong, and the hard shadow in the middle belt line area is a guess, based on no evidence that the panels will be that flat.

They should sell it also to 'old europe', the Passat is too expensive for the middle class customers.

If you want all cars in the world to be beautiful, elegant, and powerfull, than only VW in the world should produce cars.. All other brands (because their cars are big cheap ugly plastic) should close up their factories, or probably open Car Wash for VW brand cars.

If all cars in the world were VW there wont be any ugly car.. Because VW produces only beautiful cars, like this Passat, like Eos, like Golf, like tuareg, like passat cc... VW produces beauty, elegance and power.. That's why VW is the best brand in our planet.
VW acheive new success, with every new model.. VW means success.. VW means beauty... VW means power..

DAS AUTO Rulez... VW is the best...

Remember, as was said before, this is a vehicle that VW is trying to have succcess with in the States. So they are aiming straight at the typical, middle of the road, boring sedan buyer. How many rental car styled Chevy Impalas do you see running around in the Mid-west? If VW can match that they will reach their sales goals. At least it will have VW's typical good ride and handling along with an upscale interior.

Im sorry i didnt know handa bought out what once was a unique German auto maker. At one point in time VW sold cars that were beautiful and had elegant styling. Anyone that thinks that is a unique 'beautifully' styled car is completely wrong and should never comment on car styling again. Dont get me wrong i own and drive a VW and i love it but they have more recently lost me with their middle of the road styling. I almost completely agree with the above
