New photographs of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta (formerly known as the Milano) have been published on the Italian automaker's dedicated website. Besides seeing the sporty five-door hatchback in Alfa's classic red finish, we also get our first official view of the Giulietta's dashboard with the traditional twin-binnacle instrument panel.
The Golf-sized hatchback will make its global debut at the 2010 Geneva Salon next March with sales due to start in Europe in Spring of the same year. The Giulietta's lineup will consist of two petrol and two diesel engines, all turbocharged and all fitted with start-stop systems to improve fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions.
At launch, the petrol range will include the 1.4-liter TB and 1.4-liter TB Multiair petrol units with 120HP and 170HP respectively, and the diesel, the 1.6-liter JTDM and 2.0-liter JTDM diesels with 105HP and 170HP respectively.
Hot hatch enthusiasts will be glad to know that Alfa will present a "Quadrifoglio Verde" (four-leaf clover) version later in the year that will be powered by a 1.7-liter (1,750cc) four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing a hefty 235 horsepower.

its kinda growing on me to be honest!
Love the interior
1. Glad Milano name was dropped.
2. Not sure Giulietta lives up to the its history.
3. Regardless of the name, it's a beautiful machine!
4. Alfa enthusiasts would be even happier if AR would finally change to RWD platforms and assume their natural role as BMW's Italian counterpart.

Nothing wrong with this...quite like it. Don't think it'll change my mind about getting the new Astra but.
I love the interior, it looks like they used quality material and the design of the dashboard is great. The exterior looks great too, I like the red better then the white tough.
looks sexy...hope the quality is good..
Very fussy interior, in fact it's a bit of an ABS plastic moulding mess. Would of been much classier with some body coloured metal on the dash (like the Fiat 500) or some classy stitched leather covered parts. Unfortunately it's just a swathe of unimaginative cheap looking black plastic...
Alfa Romeos:-
*The rears are great.
*Innovative and striking tail lamps.
*Front end not so great.
and looks like the two door look with rear door handles camouflaged near the c pillar are catching on.
Actually bouth Giulitta and Astra promise to be excellent cars despite their brand now is quite undervalued, they seems to be at te same level of the most appreciated competitors (Golf/A3, 1er).
Anyway should refer to different targets:
Astra more practical, confortable for daily use,
Giulietta much more sporty, less confortable but with superior handling for driving pleasure.
real wheel drive now Alfa!
Not liking daytime running lights. Just because Audi does it doesn't mean you all have to, lol.
Just Great.. I hope i will buy one of these in the future..
Eh...actually, they do have to install daytime running lights (from wikipedia):
By member-state consensus the ECE R48 defines dedicated daylight running lamps which will be required for all new motor vehicles conforming to ECE R87 beginning 2011
So, I guess it would be silly not to install them on something that comes out in 2010...
WOW. Fantastic design. This will be a winner for sure.

i love the interior and exterior. dramatic without being over the top. bring it to the u.s. yesterday!
Come on Alfa - beautiful car - ( as usual, and this shows the way-to-go for an (overdue IMO) front-end revision for the MiTo.........
- but still leaving BMW the rear-drive-winners
in a Field of ONE !
I really thought the tide had turned for sporty alternatives to beemers in relation to
both saloons and sports cars and I don't think I'm alone-it's such a long time ago that BMW
and Alfa went head-to-head with the same transmission layout.......
UUH Mama!
Love it. And love the name. Now we need RWD or AWD and a turbo.
Thank you!
"and looks like the two door look with rear door handles camouflaged near the c pillar are catching on."
I think you will find it was Alfa that pioneered this styling trick with the 156, so I think they have the right to incorporate it here!
Alfa Romeos are by far the Sexiest looking cars out of all the auto manufacters...
Thumbs up to the Designers for making an Eye Candy :)
...No RWD, No Party
Daytime running lights are excellent - it will be law in Europe soon to have them on all the time, I'm glad they are on the Alfa.
I'm really pleased to see the hidden rear door handles made it too.
Looks superb and if it is like the Mito all the better!
Thank goodness that the Alfa is FWD - at least I won't need a team of people to push me if it snows (unlike BMW drivers).
Keep up the Good Work!
Pictures are stunning, I just want to see it in reality and I reeeeaally wanna know the price of the 235 HP version one :)
