Kepler Motors to Debut 800HP Hybrid Supercar at Dubai Show, Powered by Ford's EcoBoost V6

|

Dubai may be going through some tough times now, but the emirate -and the U.A.E. in general- is a haven for makers of ultra luxurious and exotic sports cars. Among numerous other automakers that will make their way to the 2009 Dubai International Motor Show, which runs from December 16 to 20, is Kepler Motors. To be honest, we've never of the California-based company, but the release says Kepler Motors was founded by World Speed Record Holder Russ Wicks.

Kepler Motors will use the Dubai show to stage the world debut of its new hybrid supercar, called Motion.

Said to have been developed by the ground up, the Motion's drivetrain combines a modified version of the Ford EcoBoost twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with 550HP that drives the rear wheels, with a 250 hp electric motor driving the front wheels.

The two-engines produce a combined output of 800-horsepower propelling the all-wheel drive gasoline-electric supercar from zero to 60mph (96km/h) in a claimed 2.5 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 200mph or 320km/h+.

The 4,435mm long Motion features extensive use of carbon fiber composite materials for its monocoque chassis and body to minimize the car's weight, though the company has not released any official numbers.

Kepler also adds that the Motion is equipped with StopTech's Continuous Carbon Ceramic (C3) AeroRotors.

The company said that it will limit production of the hand-assembled Motion to just 50 units with deliveries expected to start sometime in 2011.

You know a gentleman at Coventry university made an interpretation of how the McLaren will look in 2008, and honestly, I think the designers mimic his design.

Ford should drop this propulsion system into a Fusion. Can you say Fusion SVO? Then again, how many idiots would kill themselves in a vehicle like that.

Umm.. im not a mechanic so correct me if im wrong, but wont a 550hp engine at the rear over drive a 250hp engine at the front.. meaning the two engines cannot both run at the same time..??
