Here's your chance to get a taste of the looks and sounds of the new Lexus LFA in real-life conditions as the Japanese company brought its Ferrari-challenging V10-powered supercar to the Cars and Coffee event last month in Irvine, California. Watch the two films after the jump, and don't forget to say 'ouch' at about 43 seconds into the first video...Thanks for the tip 3Deuce27 (First video via Motortrend)

The end of the second video shows a Nissan GT-R trailing behind the LFA, and as much as I'd like to think that the LFA is an engineering marvel for Toyota, I can't shake the fact that Nissan does this sort of thing better. They do it cheaper. They do it with more than just one halo car. And their cars look a little better too. So what if Toyota scores higher on the reliability ratings? At least Nissan knows how to install some damn floor mats correctly.
it was never the floor mats, it was toyota's shitty throttle control system.
But it's not like Nissan doesn't have problems with the transmission in the GTR or it's shit warranty that is voided by trying to turn lauch control off.
I love this fanatical arguments. Who cares who has what problem. At least Nissan does it in less than third the price of the big names. And why would someone buy a Toyota at the price of a Lamborghini. This is about status not about reliability report of Consumer Reports. And this thing is ugly. I saw it in LA auto show and I wouldn't buy it even for 30K not to say 300K.
You could just tell the guy that brought the car there thought his shit didnt stink that day !
That's what I don't understand either, why would anyone buy this car instead of a Lamborghini... I mean for that price, and yeah its definitely not a good looking car...
The only reasons to buy it are...
1. You have a car collection already, and it's something new to add, or....
2. You want something different.
For my money, I'd have a DBS.
Thee things that surpirsed me in the videos.
1) the lack of a push button start for a $300,000 car
2) the lack of hood struts for a $300,000 car
3) the ouch by the driver - who let him drive it?!
And, I agree with the above posts. I would never spend that much money for a fancied up Toyota. I'd buy an Audi R8 for the summer and a GT-R to get me through the winter and still have money left over.
Sounds good, but is this close to a production version? Styling is worse than the GTR which is no beauty queen.
If I recall on the video, the push button is on the steering wheel?
DESIGN UGLY AND CHEAP!
i love it.
Actually the design of the LFA looks a lot nicer in person. I was lucky enough to ride in one. Pretty sure its the one in the video above, at the Lexus event @ the Auto Club Speedway not to long ago. I haven't been in any other super cars to give a unbiased opinion but this car was super fast!
I guy totally scraped the front in the beginning of the video. idiot!
