The New Small Concept is Honda's proposal for a low-cost five-door hatchback in booming emerging markets such as India and it was introduced today at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. Honda was quite secretive about the five-seater supermini's underpinnings and mechanical hardware, but the company did reveal that it is planning to introduce a new model based on this concept sometime in 2011.
The supermini will initially be sold in India and in Thailand, though it has been reported that the vehicle is engineered to be a global car so don't be surprised if the small Honda makes its way in certain Western markets.
It goes without saying that the series model's styling will be toned down a notch or two compared to the concept, though some features such as the hidden rear-door handles could make it into production.

Finally a great design from Honda. All of their other styled cars are bland or just ugly. Now they need to continue this design thruout the entire line of vehicles.
So the great design comes from a low cost car of Honda ?
Honda US Designers should take notes. Very nice looking little car
Honda cars are never bland, they have sharp design themes, may be you could say that for Toyota...but you should understand that gear heads like us are just in the hundreds and people who look at cars as point-A to point-B use devices are in the millions and no other manufacturer has understood it better than Toyota. They build cars with maximum attention to quality and build decent looking cars which may look boring. They also give a lot of attention to local market dynamics. Thats probably their recipe for phenomenal sales.
The tails are brilliantly designed and the hidden rear handles are neatly tucked and the best hidden handles i have ever seen. Tone down the car just a bit and make it simpler and its a winner
looks bulky up front
looks like Honda just hired a good designer. hope they let this person work on the rest of their lineup. but good designs are only relevant if they make it to production...

You're not aware of any recalls, are you?

-No company has a clean record or is ever gonna have in future.. and by the way there are disputes on the floormat issues. Its not set in stone yet..
^ recalls? bah! they can and do happen to every automaker at some point. i have no issues with toyota. with all of the cars produced, their record is impressive. toyota and honda recalls seem to draw notice, gm and ford's recalls less so. we take those for granted and stride. i worry when a vehicle with problems is NOT recalled. it happened to me once, being just one of thousand of complaints accross the country. i had to pay full cost for parts and labor. the warranty was just up (naturally), i was too late for the lemmon law and traded in the car before a class action suit. ugh!
Hondas are not bland. They are no non-sense cars and built to last. I miss their old slogan "We make it simple".
Looks largely like a suzuki...
jst waiting for a low price honda........
