Tommy Kaira Nissan GT-R R35 Ebbrezza-R Premieres at Tokyo Auto Salon

|

Not surprisingly, the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 was packed with tuning proposals for Nissan's scorching hot GT-R R35. Among the new offerings that made their debut at Japan's equivalent of the SEMA Show is Tommy Kaira's long awaited Ebbrezza-R sports package with styling and performance upgrades.

On the outside, there's a new aero kit trimmed in carbon fiber that includes a redesigned front bumper with a lip spoiler, side skirts, rear wheel arch add-ons, a rear wing and a beefier rear diffuser along with an underspoiler.

Tommy Kaira's package also includes a new set of 20-inch multispoke alloy wheel wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires size 255/40 ZR20 up front and 285/35 ZR20 at the back.

A lot of work has been performed in the cabin that has been clothed in a combination of red Alcantara and burgundy-colored, hand-stitched leather trim with contrasting white seams.

A pair of black Recaro bucket seats, unique floor mats and heaps of carbon fiber decorative trim round off the interior upgrades.

To be completely honest though, we can't say that we find Tommy Kaira's color and material choices even remotely tasteful...

There's not a lot going on under the sheetmetal as the Japanese tuner's offerings are limited to a sport titanium exhaust system, high-performance brakes and a sports suspension kit.

i suppose the read cloth is for functional reasons, but if sold in showrooms and away from the track, it needs to be leather all the way. some great colors from toyota, honda and nissan. not just the usual silver or red.

err... i meant red cloth. got a little excited!

nice kit, but just one comment:whatever tunning company they are, they shouldn't take the GT-R badge from a GT-R

No Car Like the Nissan GT-R.

^ good point! yes. nice kit, too. i like the color. unique in the world of silver, black and white. the red interior should not be garish red cloth, but leather is very costly for "just show". i think it was for cost cutting. understanding and certainly forgiving.

FYI, the red fabric is also leather, alcantara suede.

If you don't like red, you don't like red in any material.

I love red and have checked that box -when available- on every car (And Truck) I have ordered in the past 40 plus years. Must be the German in me. Audi, BMW and Mercedes always have the Red interior option.

Beats Gray on gray,on gray or ubiquitous black for me every time.
