We don't know if this dumpster's truck bed hydraulics were affected by a similar problem to Toyota's sticky accelerators or if the driver simply forgot to check the bed on his vehicle, but either way, the dump truck caused a huge mess in Turkey when it slammed into a pedestrian bridge over the highway.
The accident happened on Monday, January 25 and it was caught on tape by a surveillance camera.
Amazingly, even though there were three people on the bridge at the time of the impact, only one person - you can see him on the left side of the bridge- sustained injuries, fortunately, not life threatening. Hit the jump for the video.

u can see some the pedestrians running to safety. looks like 1-2 in plain sight did not. so sad!!!
that one pedestrian that paused must have been in total shock. yes. the driver was a complete moron for not judging clearance in height.
It had nothing to do with not judging the clearance height.

I saw a guy on the footbridge and he would be killed if he kept walking forward. But it seems he saw the dump truck coming and halted. Lucky him!
Lucky for these people! Same thing happened here and the driver was hard injured!

Box probably wasn't locked down and gradually come up in transit... It happens and is considered 'Operator' error. Seems that he must have had some hints something was wrong Increased drag on power, high 'CG' tipsy motion...
Amazing if true, that nobody died.. Pedestrian that stopped looks like he landed on his feet, but the bridge debris engulfed him. Truck is still upright! Amazing.
Just shows ...That you never know how your going to go/get it. Turn the corner and your world can change in a millisecond.
