Wait; isn't Volkswagen's new Scirocco supposed to be the spiritual successor to the long-gone Corrado coupe? Sure it is, but the folks from Miranda Media wanted to give an answer to the purely theoretical question of what would the Corrado look like in 2010 if Volkswagen designed a direct replacement for the fastback coupe.
The answer came from Patrick Moczarsky, a professional designer and graphic artist from Miranda Media, that sketched these design proposals for a new generation Corrado that modernizes the lines and styling elements of the original model.
"We realize, of course, that Volkswagen will not present such a car right now, but the flight of imagination is so fascinating that it won't give us a moment's rest", said Patrick Moczarsky as he was preparing for liftoff.

HOT!!!
Very nice!!!
shame vw ditched the corrados rear window/shoulder line when designing new scirocco. makes the car look far more poised/aggressive
This looks amazing. Unfortunately, even if they did make this awesome design they still wouldn't bring it to the US.
Although i think the Scirocco looks pretty cool, personally if they ever released one of these i would definitely buy one (if i had the cash that is.... :/ )
Kudos to the designer for such a cool work, keep it up
Nup, don't like it. For the simple fact that it still looks too much like the original Corrado. The designer should hint at style details from the Corrado instead of copying and altering them.
It feels too cheap for me.
Love it! Either this or the Scirocco should be brought to our shores here in the United States and Canada, Better looking than the Golf hatchback and 2011 Jetta coupe!
NICE! I like it, as long as mean looking front doesn't get changed around too much, assuming this reaches production.
It looks too much like the old one with some minor changes... The front is kinda ok but the rear doesn't look really modern in my opinion...
the corrado was a flop
and will always be
The Corrado was a big hit in the UK. This is a really cool looking car, in fact much nicer than the current Scirocco which in my own humble opinion is very ugly. The only thing I'd change is the front grill to bring it more into line with the latest VW's.
Still looks too safe, too 90's. The boot looks like it is from a typical European 1990's hatchback design. Need something more modern. The Scirocco looks way better than this.
Clean, Flowing, Purposeful, Sophisticated rendering...
Patrick Moczarsky ...Please, quickly find employment in one of the manufacturers design departments... and thanks for the visual treat
Reg: "Still looks too safe, too 90's."
Looks sharply in focus... and that works for any time... that is why they call designs of this nature, classics. This design would never look bad irregardless of any time context.
add the roof line of the Scirocco, the R36 engine from the Passats with DSG and 4Motion, the coilover system from the new TT and the Corrado could probably b on top of any competition
this looks FUGLY
the rear end is so outdated, who the hell would buy one of those? not me for sure, nor anybody with a little bit of good taste for cars
VW Scirocco looks way nicer, so agressive and sporty
Im sure this was meant to be a joke right? Not only would VW not make this car but the styling would be a whole lot more contemporary and in keeping with the current brand DNA. Do your homework buddy...
Personally i think that the current VW designer should be shot, as both the Scirocco and the VI Golf looks quite ugly. This design, on the other hand, looks awesome. Maybe would need a few changes, but overall it's fantastic!
Not so bad, expecially on the rear side, but very far to be innovative and totally out of the fray like the Corrado was more than twenty year ago!
The "old" Corrado still are out of the fray... VW must try to do it better to call it "Corrado": not yet another "car".

"the styling would be a whole lot more contemporary and in keeping with the current brand DNA."
Honestly, I am with those that feel the current VW design folks should be shot. The 'current DNA' is garbage. You say this sketch looks too safe? No, I beg to differ that current VW's look too 'safe', too generic, too fluffy. I like this sketch. Sure it's got obvious traits taken directly from the original Corrado, but it's clean looking none the less. Whatever happened to the bold lines that held VW apart from the rest of the car world?
I wish, I wish, I wish. For those who say that it resembles the original too much...you are fools. The Corrado has timeless lines that, if ever brought back into production, absolutely have to be kept in an updated design. Drool...I love my '93 SLC
To everyone, who say "is not modern enough/looks too much like the old one":
Do you want THIS pretty awesome designed car (old corrado) redesigned like EVERY FUCKING CAR that is designed today? every Car looks to me the same: round, bent, sloped front and more round. Why not producing a Corrado with the old Chassis and new technology? For Example new lights, new seats, new speed indicator and some changes on the running gear and new engines? Thats my imagination of a new corrado but no company of the world would do this because it looks not modern. Modern means ugly and most of the people who comment here like this, but everyone i speak with says this new conepts looks ugly we need an old corrado with new ... strange world.
I freakin' love it!!! People would go nutty over a new Corrado, especially one that looks like that. VW re-manufactured the Beetle and the Rabbit, but haven't redesigned the Corrado??? It's almost been 20 years since the last Corrado was manufactured and it's still one of the most sought after cars (even with all the electrical issues).
